The 2008 Aiken Children's Book Festival will be Friday and Saturday, September 19 & 20 at The Aiken Technical College, Aiken, SC. This is an inside location with an area outside for large animals.

We would like to hear from any children's book authors and illustrators who would like to be a part of this event. This includes books from infants to Young Adults.

Authors should be prepared to submit a copy of their book for review. If you are accepted, there is a $30.00 deposit to reserve your table.

Authors with animal characters are encouraged to bring their animal friend with them. Small animals such as dogs will be welcome inside. There is an outside area including a covered space for large animals such as horses, ponies and lamas.

Authors can sell their own books or we can sell the books for them with prior arrangement.

We will not pay mileage for anyone.

The kick off will be a Dinner /Reception on Friday evening at no charge for authors. On Saturday, the festival will be held at The Aiken Technical College in the Gym from 10:00AM to 4:00PM.

This will be a well publicized event. The 2007 Aiken Children’s Book Festival had over 2000 people attend. Our objective is to get kids interested in reading and writing.
